Letter from the President.

It's hard to believe that the first six months of the year are over and summer is here. This month, the results of the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) evaluation of our Management Systems and Product Certification Agency accreditation programs will be discussed and voted upon at the PAC/Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation joint annual meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In December 2014 and May 2015, PAC evaluated IAS for continued recognition of our product certification agency accreditation program and expansion of our scope into management systems certification body accreditation. IAS is looking forward to receiving an affirmative vote allowing our entre' into the Multi-lateral Arrangement for Management Systems.

In July, the IAS Assessor Forum will convene over a three-day period in Brea, Calif. Concurrent with the forum, our Technical Advisory Councils (TAC) — for laboratories and inspection bodies — and Task Group on Food Safety will meet at IAS headquarters. The Assessor Forum and TAC meetings will help fine-tune our assessment processes to enrich customer experience while meeting relevant national and international requirements.

In addition to celebrating our 40th anniversary this year, IAS is pleased to announce that we accredited our 800th client on June 2, which is a major milestone in our history. A big "thank you" to our valued clients, dedicated staff, contract assessors, accreditation committee, the seven technical advisory councils and our board of directors for their enduring loyalty and whole-hearted partnership.

I wish you all a very enjoyable and fulfilling summer season.

C.P. (Chuck) Ramani, PE, CBO
President
