| Government Relations Senior Regional Manager Mel Cosgrove retired from ICC last month. Cosgrove joined the technical services division of the legacy organization Southern Building Code Congress International in 1999 after a 30-year career in the fire service with the city of Mobile, Ala. He began working in ICC's Government Relations division following the consolidation in 2003. "Dedicated to his craft and known for his wit and sense of humor, Mel is a very popular and respected figure in our industry," said International Code Council (ICC) Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO. "In return, he has been a tireless advocate for the needs of our Members and stakeholders and has played an integral role in the success of our association. We thank Mel and congratulate him on a great career at ICC." A retirement luncheon was held at ICC's Eastern Regional Office in Birmingham, Ala., where Cosgrove (center) and his wife Ann are pictured with Sims (right). |
