Schmitz joins Government Relations staff.
 
 
Tim Schmitz has joined the ICC Government Relations Team with more than 20 years of public service. As a GR Regional Manager, he will serve the states of Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Schmitz recently completed his eighth term in the Illinois General Assembly, retiring as Deputy Minority Leader in January of this year. His long history of public service began on the Batavia, Ill., Plan Commission, next as an Alderman in the city of Batavia as well as serving as a Policy Analyst for the Illinois House of Representatives. He also currently serves as a Paid-On-Call Firefighter/EMT in his hometown of Batavia, a position he has held since 1984.

Schmitz was a Land Development Manager for several Chicagoland homebuilders for nearly 15 years. He also worked as a construction manager for a small firm building nearly 20 homes a year working from the initial sale to final occupancy.

Schmitz received dual degrees in Public Administration and Political Science as well as a minor in Business Administration from Augustana College in 1988. He resides with his wife, Julianne, and two college-aged sons (Alex at Augustana College and Ryan at Loyola University) in Batavia.
