ICC Board approves four new Chapters.

Nigerian delegates attending the 2015 ICC Annual Conference, Group A Public Comment Hearings, and Building Safety & Design Expo held Sept. 27-Oct. 5 in Long Beach, Calif.
 
The ICC Board of Directors approved four new Chapters during its meeting at the 2015 Annual Conference in Long Beach, Calif. The new Chapters are the New England Building Officials Education Association (NEBOEA), the New Hampshire Fire Prevention Society (NHFPS), the Nigeria National Chapter (NNC) and the Trinidad/Tobago Chapter (TTC).

The NEBOEA was approved as a Professional Chapter. Its membership consists of building safety professionals in the New England states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The Chapter's mission is to provide educational and professional development for code officials in the region. More than 300 Chapter Members regularly attend meetings.

The NHFPS was approved as a State Chapter. Its membership consists of personnel engaged in fire prevention and fire protection duties. The Chapter's mission is to unite, for mutual benefit, the members of the society engaged in fire prevention and code enforcement and to promote cooperation and assistance among interested groups through education and communication. The Chapter has approximately 175 Members.

The NNC was approved as a Global Chapter. It consists of Members from both the public and private sectors involved in the construction industry, including building safety professionals, architects, engineers, builders, town planners, educators, governmental members, manufacturers, trades, artisans and students. The Chapter is dedicated to creating awareness on the prevailing International Codes and standards, and aims to improve life, safety and the quality of the built environment.

The TTC also was approved as a Global Chapter. It consists of personnel engaged in building safety and code enforcement within Trinidad and Tobago. The Chapter's purpose is to create a platform of united stakeholders for the development of building codes for the resilient regulation for design and construction of buildings.
