International Code Council Plan Review Services Manager Chris Reeves served as the moderator of the successful ICC webinar "Hazardous Materials and Use of Control Areas Based on the 2012 IBC and IFC." The webinar focused on hazardous materials and the use of control areas based on the building and fire codes, and reviewed the requirements of Chapter 3, and Sections 414 and 415 of the International Building Code (IBC) and Chapter 50 of the International Fire Code (IFC).
More than 215 participants are now able to:

- Classify materials as to its appropriate hazard and determine the maximum allowable qualities for each material.
- Explain conditions that exempt a structure from Group H occupancy classifications.
- Define control areas and identify when control areas can be applied as an alternative to a Group H occupancy classification.
