I wanted to express my appreciation to all of you who have participated on the ICC Major Jurisdiction Committee, both now and throughout the years.

In particular, those individuals who have both volunteered and put in their time on the Steering Committee. I will miss you all. I have had the privilege to serve the Major Jurisdiction Committee since its inception and am retiring in August of this year. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve with each of you, and in particular, I want to thank Elizabeth Scanlan for being my Vice Chair for the past few years, and to Sheila Blake who was my Vice Chair during the formation of the committee.

Each of the members have brought a unique perspective and have enabled us to accomplish a variety of tasks from surveys and publishing best practices to scoping the marijuana initiative.

I want to thank the Board of Directors of ICC for continuing to support the activities of the Major Jurisdiction Committee and recognizing the benefits not just for states and large jurisdictions, but for all of ICC.

I would be remiss if I failed to recognize ICC Government Relations Senior Regional Manager Corey Roblee for his continuing efforts to inject new life and commitment into the committee and keep yours truly on track. Corey represents a true asset to all the members of the International Code Council.

I hope you have enjoyed participating as much as I have, and you're all invited to my party, August 5 at the Silverton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. If you want to wear bells, you can, but please wear something. First drink is on me.

Going out with a bang!

Ronald L. Lynn
