The International Code Council, a long-time supporter of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and World Standards Week (WSW) will once again support this year's event in a highly visible way. As a Diamond Sponsor of ANSI's Awards Banquet, ICC will have multiple support opportunities.

World Standards Week is an annual event put on by ANSI where members of the standards and conformity assessment community come together in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration.

"ICC's commitment to ANSI and World Standards Week reflects the Code Council's strong belief in the importance of the American codes and standards system and our leadership role in the U.S. standards community," said International Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims. "ICC is proud to be an ANSI-accredited Standards Developing Organization, and over the past several years, ICC has served as Administrating Organization of World Standards day twice. This event is co-chaired by ANSI and National Institute of Standards and Technology. In addition, past ICC president Ron Lynn was the recipient of the prestigious Ron Brown Standards Leadership Award, presented in 2012 at the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day Awards Banquet.

The American National Standards Institute is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance U.S. global competitiveness and the American quality of life by promoting, facilitating and safeguarding the integrity of the voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system. Its membership is made up of businesses, professional societies and trade associations, standards developers, government agencies, and consumer and labor organizations.

ICC has worked hand-in-hand with both the private and public sectors to support standardization and conformity assessment and is a member of the SES — The Society for Standards Professionals copyright alliance.
