Effective July 1st, 2017, the frequency of exam attempts for the National Certification program will increase. Instead of the current rule, where candidates can have two exam attempts in a six-month period, candidates will have the opportunity to take an exam six times in a six-month period if needed to pass.

The Certification Committee of the ICC Professional Development Council approved this change in a December 2016 meeting, to allow candidates greater access to testing. For more information on the Certification Committee or the ICC Professional Development Council, please click here.

During this transition, if a candidate has already used one or two of their exam attempts within their six-month period of retesting upon July 1, they are allowed to continue retesting until their six attempts are fulfilled in the six-month period.
