From Oct. 16-20, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will celebrate World Standards Week (WSW). WSW is an annual event designed to create open dialogue about developments and challenges related to standards and conformity assessment. The International Code Council (ICC) is a Diamond Sponsor, an institute member and an ANSI-accredited standards developer. Also this month on Oct. 19, the U.S. standards community will celebrate World Standards Day 2017, co-chaired by ANSI and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. This year's theme is "Smart Health: Health Using Intelligent Systems to Improve the Quality and Delivery of Health Care in a More Integrated, Focused Approach." Since 1970, World Standards Day has recognized the importance of codes and standards in our global community. ICC is an active participant in the international standards community. Please join us in celebrating World Standards Day. For more information, visit www.ansi.org/meetings_events/wsw17/wsd.
