Building Systems Housing Summit

"Building Sweet Success" was the theme of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Building Systems Housing Summit, that took place at Hershey Lodge from October 8-10. The International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) is honored to have sponsored the keynote speaker, Michael Moore, President of Moore Leadership & Peak Performance.

Moore presented, "Identifying and Overcoming the Myths, Memes and Outright Lies that are Holding you Back" which addressed the "keys to unlocking the walls around your business that hinder performance and produce mediocrity." Moore's main objective of the presentation was for the audience to "understand how leaders that coach and develop talent make their company stand out on a course of constant improvement."

The conference held many educational sessions and roundtable discussions that addressed topics including the economic status of the housing industry, innovative products, and generational shifts in the workplace. Attendees had the opportunity to reinforce relationships and meet new customers in the systems-built residential construction industry. The many sponsors in attendance also allowed for further discussions and connections between manufacturers and builders looking for tools, technologies and services.

As part of the conference, the Building Systems Council (BSC) also hosted the Jerry Rouleau Awards Luncheon that celebrated the recipients of the prestigious 2018 BSC Jerry Rouleau Awards for Excellence and BSC Specialty Awards. This year's winner of the S.A Walters Award for System-Built Achievement was Dan Mitchell, President of Eagle CDI Inc., and conference emcee.

ICC-ES is proud to have sponsored this year's keynote speaker and looks forward to continuing to cultivate the partnership with NAHB in the future.
