ICC Membership Councils help shape the industry.

The Membership Councils offer International Code Council Members a place to come together and be a more powerful force shaping ICC, their industries, their careers and their futures. Five discipline-specific Membership Councils allow ICC Membership to share their expertise, voice, and vision with their peers. ICC's Building Official, Fire Service, Global, PMG and Sustainability Membership Councils came together Sunday, Oct. 16, for a joint meeting to hold Governing Council elections, present awards and discuss matters of interest to all Membership Councils.

This week, a group of young and talented professionals — part of ICC's new Emerging Leaders Membership Council — will "shadow" the ICC Board of Directors during conference, experiencing the path of leadership. The new Council establishes a place for young professionals to learn and participate as true peers in ICC.

2nd Annual Burton Golf Outing raises funds for future leaders.

Recognizing the need to encourage and mentor the next generation of code officials and to provide for the continued education of individuals who seek a profession in code administration, the Past Presiding Officers of the International Code Council have embarked on an effort to provide training and resources needed to address the critical need for future leaders in our profession. The 2nd Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing, held at Falcon Ridge Golf Club in Lenexa, Kan., was the second fundraising event of the Past Presiding Officers and celebrated the life and work of William Ronald "Ron" Burton, a renowned code expert who worked on many code-related projects for ICC, Building Owners and Managers Association International, and the National Association of Home Builders.
