Helping in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey

The scope of the damage and the sheer number of people affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana is staggering. And, now, Hurricane Irma is battering Florida with violent winds and storm-surge flooding. Last month ICC pledged to match member, staff and stakeholder donations to the American Red Cross up to $64,000, the number of ICC members, to help with disaster relief. We've raised over $23,000 so far, but that's still a long way from our goal. Starting today, September 11, we are issuing a special conference challenge — we will double any Red Cross donations we receive until the end of Global Connections Day on Wednesday. In other words, if you donate $50, ICC will give $100. Click here to make your contribution today.

The members of ICC's Building Official, Fire Service, Global, PMG Official, Sustainability and Emerging Leaders Membership Councils hold Governing Council elections during a joint meeting of all Membership Councils.

ICC Membership Councils help shape the industry

The Membership Councils offer International Code Council Members a place to come together and be a more powerful force shaping ICC, their industries, their careers and their futures. Five discipline-specific Membership Councils allow ICC membership to share their expertise, voice and vision with their peers. ICC's Building Official, Fire Service, Global, PMG Official, Sustainability and Emerging Leaders Membership Councils came together Sunday, Sept. 10, for a joint meeting to hold Governing Council elections, present awards and discuss matters of interest to all Membership Councils.

3rd Annual Burton Golf Outing raises funds for future leaders

Recognizing the need to encourage and mentor the next generation of code officials and to provide for the continued education of individuals who seek a profession in code administration, the Past Presiding Officers of the International Code Council have embarked on an effort to provide training and resources to address the critical need for future leaders in our profession. The 3rd Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing, held at Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio, was the third fundraising event of the Past Presiding Officers and celebrated the life and work of William Ronald "Ron" Burton, a renowned code expert who worked on many code-related projects for ICC, Building Owners and Managers Association International, and the National Association of Home Builders.

The tourney included a 50/50 drawing, prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin, a hole-in-one contest, a golf ball launching contest, and gifts for all participants.
