UPCOMING HEARINGS   CODE DEVELOPMENT NEWS
Committee Responsibilities, Proposal Forms Available for 2012/2013 Cycle
Information concerning the upcoming 2012/2013 Code Development Cycle, including code committee responsibilities for Group A and Group B proposals and proposal forms for the Group A Codes, is available on the ICC website. The closing date is January 3, 2012, for the Group A Codes that include the International Building, Fuel Gas, Mechanical, Plumbing and Private Sewage Disposal Codes. The closing date is January 3, 2013, for the Group B Codes that include the remaining I-Codes.

Highlights from the IgCC, ISPSC Final Action Hearings in Phoenix
During Final Action Hearings in Phoenix, Code Council Voting Members were part of public safety history as they took action of proposed changes to the two newest, full-fledged members of the International Codes: the 2012 International Green Construction Code and the 2012 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code. Symposium Examines Lessons Learned from 2011 "Super Outbreak" of Tornadoes
The Code Council hosted a symposium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in October to examine lessons learned from the 2011 “Super Outbreak” of tornadoes. More than 100 industry professionals, including 2011 Code Official of the Year Alan Boswell (pictured above), participated in the event to discuss the aftermath of of the 2011 tornadoes and possible strategies to mitigate damages and reduce the loss of life during future storms. Plan Review Partnership Plays Decisive Role in Award-Winning Development
Quality. Community. Planning. These are the three words the American Planning Association panel of experts used when it selected the city of Hampton, Virginia, as the 2011 recipient of the Donald E. Hunter Excellence in Economic Development Planning Award for the city's role in the redevelopment of the Peninsula Town Center. New Codes & Standards Council Represents Stakeholders Across Several Disciplines
The new Codes & Standards Council, created by the ICC Board of Directors, was appointed to review and approve new codes and standards projects, advise the Board regarding committee appointments, and review code development policies and procedures. The CSC represents stakeholders across several disciplines, as well as representatives to new discipline-specific Membership Councils. Click to continue.

Code Action Committees Create Additional Opportunities for Participation
In an effort to create additional opportunities for participation in the ICC Code Development Process, for the 2012/2013 Cycle and going forward, the Code Council Board has established a full complement of four Code Action Committees covering all 15 of the I-Codes. Click to continue.
