$3.4 Billion Energy Opportunity Is Waiting

A $3.4 billion green opportunity is waiting for those International Code Council member jurisdictions wanting to apply for funding available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. These funds are available to local building departments for achieving higher building energy efficiency, energy code adoptions, inspections, audits and enforcement programs. Sprinkler Debate Heats Up Ohio

In September 2008, 73 percent of voting ICC members supported mandatory fire sprinkler systems in one- and two-family dwellings. The outcome of those code hearings will be incorporated into the 2009 International Residential Code and Ohio will consider adopting the code in 2010 with the option of modifying, eliminating or accepting the proposed code changes. more>>
