Development Review Specialist Named Town Employee of the Year
Debby Morakis (left), a development review specialist with the Planning, Zoning and Building Department of Palm Beach, was named the 2011 Town Employee of the Year. She was presented with an engraved plaque, a check for $3,500 and a toy version of the truck she commutes to work in.

Morakis, who has worked with the Planning, Zoning and Building Department for 13 years, was nominated for the award by her boss, John Page. "I can always count on her," Page said. "As a manager, you would like to have a bunch of people like Debby working for you—she works hard, does it right and doesn't complain. She really deserves this recognition. She is great with customers and is also a real team player."
