New I-Codes Now Available |
|
The two newest additions to the International Family of Codes, the "International Green Construction Code" (IgCC) and the "International Swimming Pool and Spa Code" (ISPSC), are now available for jurisdictions to adopt and enforce.
The 2012 International Green Construction Code is the path to safe, sustainable and economical construction. The model code for constructing and remodeling buildings is expected to make buildings more efficient, reduce waste, and have a positive impact on health, safety and community welfare. The IgCC will increase the energy-efficiency of structures, while providing direction and oversight of green design and construction.
The nation's leading code and pool safety organizations joined together to publish the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC). It is the first comprehensive code to upgrade pool and spa safety, and meet the requirements of the Virginia Graeme Baker Act. The ISPSC uses prescriptive and performance-related provisions to establish minimum safety requirements for public and residential pools, spas and hot tubs. |
