More than 520 proposed changes were debated during last week's Group C Committee Action Hearings in Memphis, Tenn. View the results. Online voting through cdpACCESS, ICC's new code development tool, will be held May 19–30 on assembly floor motions from the Group C Hearings. The results of the online vote will be included in the Report of the Committee Action Hearing which is scheduled to be posted June 6. Successful assembly motions will result in automatic public comments to be considered at the Public Comment Hearings Oct. 1–5 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

NGBS Consensus Committee, Task Groups to Hold First Meeting June 9–10

The Consensus Committee and Task Groups for the development of the 2015 edition of the National Green Building Standard will hold their first meeting June 9-10 at the National Housing Center in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the meeting is to orient all participants in the update process, initiate Task Group review of proposed changes to the 2015 edition, and to discuss options on several key areas of the standard. Consensus Committee to Consider Public Comments on ICC A117.1 Draft

The ICC (ASC A117) Consensus Committee on Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities will meet July 14-16 to consider public comments on the first public draft of the 2015 edition of ICC A117.1. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Access Board in Washington, D.C. Read the meeting notice.

Accessibility: Do You Ever Think about Baby Changing Stations?

There are a lot of accessibility issues in public restrooms, but do you ever think about baby changing stations? There are two things to look at regarding accessibility: if a mother or father who uses a wheelchair needs access to a baby changing station, what are the necessary technical criteria; and can that baby station be located within an accessible stall, a family assisted-use bathroom or a single-occupant bathroom without causing a problem with access to the plumbing fixtures?

ICC is seeking volunteers to serve on Code Committees, the Code Correlation Committee and Code Interpretation Committees for the 2015-2017 Code Development Cycle.
