Lynn, Brothers, Dupler Elected Officers
Five Named as Board Directors |

Ronald Lynn, Director and Building Official for the Clark County, Nevada, Department of Development Services, was elected President of the International Code Council Board of Directors during this morning's Annual Business Meeting. Lynn previously served as Vice President and has been a member Code Council Board since 2004. He also serves on the International Accreditation Service Board of Directors and acts as a liaison between the two Boards.
James L. Brothers, Building Director for the City of Decatur, Alabama, was elected Vice President of the ICC Board. Alabama's Code Official of the Year in 1997, Brothers serves on the Legislative and Codes Advisory Council for the American Society of Interior Design and is Past President of the North Alabama Code Officials Association and the Code Officials Association of Alabama. He previously served as Secretary/Treasurer of the ICC Board.
William D. Dupler, Building Official for Chesterfield County, Virginia, was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the ICC Board. A 31-year industry veteran, Dupler has worked in Virginia as a plans examiner, engineering supervisor, deputy building official and building official. He has been extensively involved in code development at the state and national level. Dupler previously served as a Director on the ICC Board. more>> |

Today's Cracker Barrel Luncheon featured numerous roundtable discussions on current and new technology, challenges and issues surrounding the International Codes and the building and fire safety industry. There were more than 40 presentations during the Cracker Barrel Luncheon. |
Fireside Chat Examines Important Issues
More than 50 delegates attended this afternoon's Fireside Chat hosted by Code Council Board President Adolf Zubia (seated center) and CEO Rick Weiland (seated left). President Zubia provided election results for the 2009–2010 Board of Directors. He also discussed feedback provided by members on the new ICC website, the length and duration of the current code development hearings, and the unveiling of the new Building Safety Journal online magazine. He also took questions from callers. |
Companions Touring D.C, and Annapolis
Conference companions are receiving an introduction to Washington, D.C., and touring Annapolis, Maryland, and the U.S. Naval Academy today. In Washington, D.C., the companions are traveling down the famous parade route of Pennsylvania Avenue, passing landmarks such as the J. Edgar Hoover FBI Building and the Old Post Office Pavilion (pictured) before arriving at the U.S. Capitol. In Annapolis, they are touring "A Town of Three Centuries" and the U.S. Naval Academy. more>>

Luncheon Honors Those Who Ensure Public Safety
Tomorrow's Awards Luncheon will recognize and honor you and your colleagues for the services you provide that are vital to ensuring public health and safety. The event will feature the presentations of the 2009 Bob Fowler Award, the Code Official of the Year Award, the Fire Service Award, the Community Service Award, the Affiliate Award, and the Educator of the Year Award. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 am–1 pm in Hall A of the Baltimore Convention Center. |
