Representatives of the American Institute of Architects, including Vice President of Government and Community Affairs Paul Mendelsohn (far left), presented the first contribution to the ICC Foundation's Code of Honor Scholarship Program to Code Council Board of Directors Vice President Ron Lynn (second from right) and COO Dominic Sims (far right). The program is designed to foster balanced participation in the code development process by underwriting costs for ICC Governmental member voting representatives to participate in Final Action Hearings. more>>

Latest Master Code Professionals
Range from Arizona to Florida


Twenty-three individuals earned Master Code Professional (MCP) certifications in February and March, joining 74 code enforcement officials last year and more than 190 overall who have earned the Code Council’s highest certification since 2004. more>>

Code Council Presents on Accessibility at National ADA Symposium

Code Council accessibility experts Kim Paarlberg and Jay Woodward presented three programs—Harmonizing ADAAG and the International Building Code, Accessible Egress Design, and Accessible Housing Design—at the National ADA Symposium. Their programs were for those involved in building design, regulatory oversight or other advanced applications of accessibility in the built environment. more>>



Funds Raised for Fallen
Firefighters Foundation

Pierce Manufacturing and Harley-Davidson Motor Company raised $135,000 through its Full Throttle Campaign to assist the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The International Code Council often supports fellow fire safety advocates, including participating in a special ceremony in Washington, D.C., commemorating the conclusion of the three-month campaign. more>>

NY Builds a Safer World at BSW Lobby Day

ICC staff visited with New York State Senate and Assembly members during the Fourth Annual Lobby Day during Building Safety Week 2009 to discuss the need for the Secretary of State to purchase code books for the 4,500 code enforcement officials in NYS, the 54-g legislation, the Community Building Code Administration Grant Act, and the importance of proper code enforcement and building safety. more>>
