When Can Voting Members Accept Financial Help to Attend Hearings?
A new document provides further information, based on CP-36 ("Sponsorship and Contributions"), regarding contributions of financial assistance to Governmental Member Voting Representatives to attend ICC code hearings. The policy seeks to prohibit, or appropriately regulate, financial assistance which is designed to increase participation by a particular interest group or by those supporting a particular position on a proposed code change. |

Celebrating 20 Years of the ADA: Providing the Pieces to the Puzzle
This week the Code Council celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), which has improved access in the built environment. Long before the ADA was enacted, ICC and its founding members were working to address disability needs through changes to building and fire safety codes. Committee Examines ICC Code Development Process
A broad-based committee of Code Council Board members and stakeholders is performing a comprehensive review of ICC's Code Development Process. The 13-member committee will make recommendations for improvements, if any, to the ICC Board of Directors in December. The committee is actively seeking feedback from members and stakeholders. |

NACo Passes Resolution Supporting Grant Act
At the recent National Association of Counties (NACo) annual conference, a resolution titled "Proposed Resolution in support of the Community Building Code Administration Grant Act" passed both the Community and Economic Development Steering Committee and general assembly of NACo. IGCC Version 1.0 Public Comments
Available for Review
The 2010 International Green Construction Code (IGCC) Version 1.0 Public Comments have been posted online in a single file as well as by chapter. An advance session to familiarize participants with the hearings will be held Friday, August 13, to discuss hearing logistics and procedures. The file also includes hotel information, the hearing schedule and procedures and the tentative order of discussion. The IGCC Public Comment Hearings will take place August 14-22 in Chicago. |
