Virginia Code Officials, Home Builders Association Earn ICC Raising the Profile Award

A public campaign highlighting the importance of building codes and building safety is the 2010 recipient of the Code Council’s Raising the Profile Award, which recognizes contributions that raise public awareness of accomplishments of code enforcement officials that improve public safety. The Virginia Building and Code Officials Association (VBCOA) and New River Valley Home Builders Association were honored for their collaboration on the “Better Building. Safer Homes.” campaign. Role of Code Officials, Enforcement
Discussed during Capitol Hill Day

IGCC Public Hearings Slated
for August

Public comments received for the International Green Construction Code (IGCC) Public Version 1.0 will serve as the agenda for the IGCC Hearings set for August 14-22 in Chicago. Following the consideration and approval of public comments, Public Version 2.0 will be posted for code change submittals beginning November 3. Register now for the August hearings in Chicago.


ICC, eCodeCycle Providing Enriched Experience at Code Hearings

New technology is providing building safety professionals a more enriched experience during the Code Council's Final Action Hearings in Dallas by providing the results of code change proposals in real time, including committee actions and public comments. ICC and eCodeCycle will undertake the joint marketing of eCodeCycle software that will mean savings of up to 20 percent for ICC members. Click to continue

  PMG Staff Begins Training for New Adoptee Puerto Rico
Following the signing of an MOU with Puerto Rico to develop a complete set of I-Codes, on behalf of ICC Global Services and ICC Training and Education, Code Council PMG Executive Director Jay Peters gave a presentation to 300 architects, engineers and public officials in San Juan. The presentations, “Code Development, Scopes and Highlights” and “Principle Changes, 2009 IPC and IMC,” were so well received, ICC was asked to return to conduct additional training.
