ICC-ES Environmental Programs Launches
New ICC-ES Environmental Programs is announcing the launch of a new program, the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Program. EPDs are designed to meet the global market demand for science-based, transparent, quality-assured information about product environmental performance. Based on Life Cycle Assessment, EPDs are rapidly becoming a key component of the material selection process, particularly in the building sector. ICC-ES helps to meet that demand through the EPD program. |
ICC-ES October Committee Meetings Coincide Attendees of the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA) October meeting will have the opportunity to participate in the ICC-ES Evaluation Committee meeting. The October 3 ICC-ES meeting will be dedicated to structural engineering topics. The October 2012 ICC-ES Evaluation and Environmental Committee meetings coincide with NCSEA Annual Conference October 1-6 at the Hilton Frontenac in St. Louis. |

ICC-ES PMG and Australian Certification Services Join Forces ICC Evaluation Service has formalized a working partnership with Australian Certification Services Pty, Ltd., headquartered in Loftus, NSW, Australia, to jointly advance and promote the mutual interests of manufacturers planning to broaden their market share. As a result of this partnership, manufacturers can obtain expedited ICC-ES Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) Listings to the International Plumbing Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code and International Residential Code as well as obtaining the Australian WaterMark by contacting either one of the two organizations. Chinese PMG Manufacturers Draw on ICC-ES Technical Expertise ICC Evaluation Service held a plumbing product certification seminar for plumbing product manufacturers in Yuhuan, China. Zhejiang Province is a central location for plumbing product manufacturers with specialties ranging from piping and fittings to valves and fixtures. Qiaoli Meng, ICC-ES Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) product certification engineer presented the seminar. ICC-ES Report Holders Comply with 2012 I-Codes Revisions to the 2012 I-Codes are prompting ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) report holders to update their ICC-ES evaluation reports and listings. Not only will this allow manufacturers to hold evaluation reports and PMG listings that are compliant to the most recent codes, but it will also provide code officials, designers, architects, engineers and others in the building industry with products they feel confident in approving or specifying. Staff Expertise Continues to Increase Dr. Mahmut Ekenel, P.E. and Jason H. Wagner, P.E. have been recognized within the industry for their knowledge and engineering expertise.
