Validation Committee certifies 2015 Group A results. In accordance with Section 10.1 of Council Policy 28 Code Development, the ICC Validation Committee has certified the results of the Online Governmental Consensus Vote for the 2015 Group A International Codes. The ICC Board of Directors also confirmed a valid voting process at its meeting last month. View the tabulated results. |

ICC-SRCC an industry partner in DOE solar training and education program. The International Code Council's Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (ICC-SRCC) is an allied industry partner in the Interstate Renewable Energy Council's two-year project to develop solar resources and training to reach 100,000 industry professionals in the code official, inspection and fire-fighting sectors, with a goal of delivering direct training to 10,000 individuals. Recognizing this, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) awarded grant funding under the new Solar Training and Education for Professionals program. |

Snow and ice melt systems linked to the building's energy system, either hydronic or electric, must have automatic controls, according to the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The controls monitor temperature and precipitation, allowing the system to idle in the off mode, and lessening the thermal shock effect and prolonging the functional life. |

New rule for exam candidates. With multiple code years of exams now available, the Certification Committee received many questions about which edition exam candidates were allowed to use. To accommodate all test-takers, the Certification Committee ruled that exam candidates in the in the National Certification and National Contractor/Trades programs may bring any copyrighted, bound reference into a test site starting May 1, excluding Fire Inspector I/II exams. |
