The International Code Council (ICC) and the International Accreditation Service (IAS) board announced the selection of Raj Nathan as IAS President. ICC invited to participate in bilateral roundtable with India

On Oct. 27, ICC participated in a roundtable launching the second phase of the U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program. The roundtable, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, brought together leading standards development organizations from both countries to discuss aspects of three core sectors of U.S.-India trade: clean energy, water and sanitation, and smart and sustainable cities. ANCR Technical Development Advisory Workshop

The Alliance for National & Community Resilience (ANCR) held its first Technical Development Advisory Workshop on Oct. 25 at the Target Corporation headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn. The objective of the meeting was to facilitate open discussion with community resilience subject matter experts and other interested stakeholders to obtain critical feedback on ANCR's Community Resilience Benchmark working proposal and the proposed benchmark development and adoption process. Congressional Fire Safety Day

On Oct. 27, the ICC staff of Washington, D.C., participated in fire service activities at the annual Congressional Fire Training day hosted by the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Sponsored by the Congressional Fire Services Institute, the fire training day is a unique, hands-on, educational experience for congressional staff, committee members and others to gain experience on what firefighters encounter in their daily work. The governing committees of the Building Official Membership Council (BOMC) and PMG Official Membership Council (PMGMC) will each hold teleconferences this month. Progress on first-ever National Energy Efficiency Registry

With support from the National Association of State Energy Officials and The Climate Registry, six U.S. states released the National Energy Efficiency Registry Principles and Operating Rules, which serve as the foundation for the first-ever, national, web-based platform that will collect standardized and transparent data on the savings associated with energy efficiency projects across the country.
