Plan to take your next ICC Exam with PRONTO at Conference

The Code Council is offering a special Bring Your Own Device (“BYOD”) Examination Administration during Annual Conference.

Examinations will be administered on October 23, 2019. Examinations listed below are anticipated at this time to be offered, but are subject to change. Two administration sessions will be held, at 8 am and 1:30 pm. Be sure to check out the notes and FAQs below for more information.

Notes

  • Applications must be received by the deadline date. Applications may be submitted by U.S. mail, courier, or via email at byod@iccsafe.org.
  • For your security, the Assessment Center elects to collect credit card information via phone. Examination fees are non-refundable.
  • Testing is limited to 20 candidates per session.
  • Walk-in testing is available, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Candidates are strongly encouraged to show up on time to confirm their seating availability.
  • For information on the examinations to be administered, click here for the current Exam Catalog. This catalog contains information on the testing process as well as specific examination information, including reference materials, length of testing, and content outlines.
  • Examinations are open-book. Candidates are responsible for bringing their own reference materials to the exam. See the Exam Catalog page for information on these materials. References needed for taking the exams can be purchased from ICC by calling 1-888-422-7233 or at www.iccsafe.org.
  • Examination fees are non-refundable.
  • A photo identification, such as a driver’s license, will be required for admittance to the examination.
  • If you have a physical disability that prohibits you from taking an examination under standard conditions, you may request special arrangements. Your letter of request must accompany this application, along with a completed special accommodations form. This form may be obtained here or by telephoning us at 1-888-422-7233, ext. 5524. Deadline to request ADA accommodations: September 27, 2019.

 

FAQs

What happens if I am unable to attend the BYOD event after signing up?

If you are unable to attend, please contact the Assessment Center at byod@iccsafe.org or 1-888 (422-7233) ext. 5524 before the exam date. Fees are non-refundable.

What can I bring to the test site?
  • Copyrighted, bound material
    • Please make sure the reference(s):
      • Are bound (either original bound book, three-ring binder, or stapled). Photocopies of copyrighted materials are not allowed.
      • Have notes written in ink or highlighted.
      • Have permanently attached tabs (tabs that can’t be removed without destroying the page).
    • Basic, four-function calculator (nonprogrammable)
    • Eyeglasses/reading glasses
    • Architects’ scale or ruler
    • Analog watch

  • The following items are not allowed:
    • Loose papers
    • Writing utensils
    • “Smart” watch (i.e., Apple or Galaxy watch)
When will I get my results?

Results for examinations taken are available immediately after completion of the exam.

How do I get my wall certificate?

For certification exams, most certificates can be printed from your myICC account. For more information on how to print wall certificates, please click here.

What devices can I use?
  • Laptop or tablet — size is up to you, but we recommend a minimum of a 10-inch screen. If using a tablet, bring a stand — your tablet cannot lay flat on the table.
  • Touch pads are allowed. However, tablet “pencils” or styluses are prohibited.
  • A power cord — if your device runs out of power during the exam, you will forfeit your exam fee.
  • You may want to bring a mouse for best functionality with our software, especially if you’re using a tablet.
