Code enforcement officials and other stakeholders can track the progress of the International Green Construction Code Public Comment Hearings in Chicago through CodeCyclePlus, a new software available from the Code Council. The American Institute of Architects has entered public comments that will be heard during the hearings. Public comments received by ICC will be entered into the system this month. Consortium to Raise Awareness
of Life-Saving Storm Shelters
The Code Council is a member of a government and academic consortium working to raise awareness of the life-saving capabilities of storm shelters. The focus of the group's activities is the pilot project Resilient Home Program, which incorporates newly revised guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency on designs for basement, in-ground and above-ground safe rooms; and requirements outlined in ICC 500. MOU with APHC in England Calls for Plumbing, HVAC Collaboration
The Code Council's PMG Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC) in England that calls for collaboration on mutually beneficial plumbing and HVAC initiatives.
