ICC partners with CPSC's Pool Safely Campaign. With warmer weather and outdoor activities on the horizon, ICC is partnering with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSP) Pool Safely Campaign to increase visibility among Americans about pool and spa safety. Pool Safely is the national public education initiative that raises awareness about drowning prevention and entrapment incidents to save children's lives in pools and spas. |

Safe room booklet referencing ICC 500 is updated. The booklet includes excerpts from the 2014 ICC/NSSA Standard for the Design and Construction of Storm Shelters (ICC 500). FEMA, the publication says, supports the development of consensus codes and standards that establish minimum acceptable requirements for the design and construction of hazard-resistant buildings. The ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) now offers this new Building Product Certification Program (BPCP) to support manufacturers who wish to distribute products in Canada and the U.S. It allows ICC-ES to certify many building products for, and provide easier access to, the Canadian market for new and existing clients, making ICC-ES a "one-stop shop" service provider for building product conformity assessment in both nations. |

The report demonstrates Zip System® Wall Sheathing compliance with requirements for use as a component in air barrier assemblies as referenced in Section: C402.4.1.2 of the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code. ZIP System Wall Sheathing panels are OSB wood structural panels having a laminated exterior facer. It is used as combination wall sheathing, air barrier and water-resistive barrier. |

ICC-ES seeks individuals for Board of Managers. The ICC Evaluation Service seeks to fill openings on its Board of Managers starting Sept. 1, 2015, with qualified individuals who will participate and contribute to the governance of ICC-ES through effective guidance on programs, activities and goals. Duties of the Board of Managers include strategic oversight of the operation of ICC-ES, a tax-exempt limited liability corporation, and providing high-level guidance to the leadership of ICC-ES. Applications will be accepted through May 6. |

ICC Board Secretary/Treasurer Dwayne Garriss updated Region VIII Chapter Members on activities of the association and swore in new officers at the region's annual meeting in Chattanooga, Tenn. Highlights also included training and presentations of awards. The region has grown to 220 Members. |

Deadline nearing for 2016 FLASH scholarships. This is the final week to submit an application for the 2016 FLASH Scholarships aimed at master and doctoral candidates seeking academic degrees that focus on disaster safety and mitigation, including construction, engineering, meteorology, risk communication, and more. The International Code Council/FLASH scholarship is for students performing research on the education of building codes, the effectiveness of building codes or the incentives and impediments for adoption and enforcement of building codes. |
